Two Decatur-area organizations will complete construction of their newest building additions on Parkway Drive, near Caterpillar off of 27th Street, on June 25th and will host an open house at 4pm for the public with the Decatur Chamber of Commerce, Decatur / Macon County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), and Mayor Mike McElroy from the City of Decatur. 300 Below, Inc. and the Macon County Animal Control & Care Center will participate in a collaborative ribbon cutting ceremony. Tours will be available at both facilities. 300 Below will add a 5,200 sq. ft. warehouse to its grounds, while the animal shelter is expanding its facility to include a new cat addition for the growing animal population.
300 Below, Inc. is a cryogenic processing company that has built a new 5,200 sq. ft. staging warehouse directly adjacent to the Midwest Inland Port in order to accommodate increased demand for its TruBlue Braking components in the automotive and fleet vehicle aftermarket parts industry.
The Macon County Animal Control & Care Center is home to nearly 100 dogs and cats from around the county and is part of the Macon County Sheriff’s Office. The shelter supplies vaccinations plus spaying / neutering to its residents as part of a humane entry and adoption process. The newest cat room will allow cats with good demeanor to play in a quiet location with access to sunlight and ventilation in an environment that is conducive to volunteer and prospective adoptee evaluation.
